A Tail Tale opens right after you unlock Winnie the Pooh in Chapter 3: A Very Satisfied Bear. Before Eeyore appears, the game runs a short interlude quest titled Misplaced Honey that bridges Drowsybloom Acre to Gloommeadow. Pooh remembers leaving Sun-Glow Honey supplies and Everoak crayons in the tree interior during the rainstorm — revisit the Everoak corridor to confirm crayon placement, brew a tummy tonic for his upset stomach, and collect a preview jar of Sun-Glow Honey that foreshadows Chapter 6 Everoak puzzles.

Once Misplaced Honey completes, fog thins at the eastern archway revealing the Gloommeadow entrance. Pooh asks you to bring comfort snacks — cook and deliver Honeycrunch Bars, gather Acorn Snails from mushroom logs, plus forage Wild Berries and Mossy Stones listed on the quest card — to clear the final Thought Fog membrane. Only then does Eeyore wander into view, pin missing tail, and start the longest character introduction in the Adventure Pack.

Chapter 4 ends after you restore Eeyore's real tail, play a round of Pooh Sticks at the river, and watch the friends celebrate. Budget ninety to one hundred twenty minutes — hedgehog relocation and dam destruction add exploration time Gloommeadow's muted lighting makes harder to navigate. When finished, continue to Chapter 5: The Big Red Monster where heroic crafting and the Everoak boss fight await.

Clearing the Gloommeadow Entrance

The Gloommeadow archway sits east of Pooh's house past the third rain puddle from Chapter 3. Interact with the fog membrane to read Pooh's snack list: deliver 2 Honeycrunch Bars, 4 Acorn Snails, 6 Wild Berries, and 3 Mossy Stones. Honeycrunch Bars reuse the Chapter 1 recipe — Golden Honey plus Sweet Chestnuts at any stove. Acorn Snails hide under rotting logs with mushroom caps; lift each log with your Royal Shovel to spawn the snail pickup.

Wild Berries grow on low bushes inside the archway approach before the membrane fully opens — gather six before cooking so you do not backtrack through puddles. Mossy Stones sparkle as green-tinted rock nodes along the Gloommeadow border; mine them with your Royal Pickaxe. Turn in all items through the quest UI on the fog wall to shatter the barrier.

Gloommeadow lighting is deliberately dim. Pin the honey lantern posts on your map as you enter — you will relight several during Eeyore's tail hunt using Honeyglow Elixir repeats from Chapter 2. Keep Rain Boots equipped; marsh pockets south of Eeyore's starting stump still check footwear.

Meet Eeyore and the Missing Tail

Past the membrane, Eeyore sits on a fallen log mumbling about his lost tail. Talk through his full dialogue chain — he will not accept help until you listen to every pessimistic line. The quest log then marks three decoy tail locations: a spring coil near a broken cart, a cuckoo clock pendulum inside a hollow stump, and a bundle of pink ribbon tangled in briars. Collect each item but Eeyore rejects them one by one in cutscenes.

Before hunting the real tail, he asks you to relocate hedgehogs sleeping in the dam construction zone. There are four hedgehog critters curled near wooden stakes — pick each up and carry it to moss circles highlighted northwest of the river. Dropping a hedgehog outside the circle fails the objective; walk slowly to avoid startling them back to the dam site.

After hedgehogs are safe, Eeyore points to the beaver dam blocking tail-search waters. Use your Royal Pickaxe on three marked dam segments to break the obstruction. Water rushes through and reveals a dig spot downstream where the real tail hides beneath sediment. This sequence mirrors classic Winnie-the-Pooh tail logic while teaching Gloommeadow traversal.

Spring, Cuckoo Clock, and Digging the Real Tail

Even after the dam breaks, the quest log still lists the decoy tail items for completion credit. Bring the spring coil from the rusted cart axle east of Eeyore's stump — interact with the axle housing to unscrew it. The cuckoo clock pendulum sits inside a hollow stump north of the hedgehog relocation circles; chop the stump lid with your Royal Pickaxe to reach inside.

Eeyore tries both objects as tails in humorous cutscenes, confirming neither works. The real objective updates to dig the riverbank below the shattered dam. Consume a Diggy-Wiggy Potion if your shovel lacks enchantment — the sediment mound counts as a special dig node. Your Royal Shovel unearths Eeyore's proper tail tied with the pink ribbon you saw earlier in briars.

Return the tail to Eeyore for the attachment cutscene. He wags skeptically, then smiles when it stays on. Friendship XP spikes and the quest log advances to the Pooh Sticks celebration step along the cleared river shallows west of the dam.

Pooh Sticks, Tips, and Next Steps

Pooh and Eeyore invite you to a Pooh Sticks minigame at the log bridge downstream. Pick up any fallen stick on the near bank, drop it upstream simultaneously with Pooh's countdown, then rush to the other side to see whose stick exits first. You do not need to win — participating completes the chapter. The minigame unlocks as a repeatable activity later for friendship bonuses with both characters.

Stuck points: If Gloommeadow will not open, verify Misplaced Honey fully completed including tummy tonic handoff and Sun-Glow Honey jar pickup. Hedgehogs failing to register usually means you set one outside the moss circle — reset by leaving biome. Dam segments require pickaxe, not shovel. If dig spot is invisible, break all three dam pieces and reload the zone.

Chapter 4 completion starts Chapter 5: The Big Red Monster automatically. Pooh warns about a fog beast nesting near the Everoak Tree crown — you will craft a Storybook Sword, Heroic Helmet, and fog-busting potion before the boss fight.
