How to Unlock Eeyore
Unlock Eeyore by completing Chapters 4–5 and the Chapter 6 Interlude in Gloommeadow. Full walkthrough of tail restoration, the Big Red Monster quest, and villager unlock steps.
Eeyore Unlock Requirements Overview
Eeyore becomes a main Dreamlight Valley villager after you complete Chapters 4 and 5 plus the short Chapter 6 Interlude quest in Honeyglow Woods. These chapters open Gloommeadow, the second biome where Eeyore wanders without his tail and battles gloomy Thought Fog. You must finish Chapters 1–3 with Winnie the Pooh first — the story is strictly linear and Gloommeadow paths remain blocked until Chapter 4 begins.
Expect two to four additional hours after Pooh unlocks, depending on exploration and Golden Honey stockpiles. Our Chapter 4, Chapter 5, and Chapter 6 Interlude walkthroughs list every fetch objective if you prefer checklist format.
Chapter 4: A Tail Tale in Gloommeadow
Chapter 4 begins when Pooh directs you toward Gloommeadow's misty bridge and gloomy clearings. You meet Eeyore for the first time — tailless, pessimistic, and stuck in a fog pocket. Quest objectives revolve around finding tail materials, cheering Eeyore with crafted gifts, and clearing Thought Fog nodes unique to Gloommeadow's purple-tinted landscape. Gather reeds, gloommeadow flowers, and honey-based crafting components scattered along the riverbank.
Several steps require crossing the Gloommeadow bridge — the same location used later for Pooh Sticks minigame activities with villagers. Fix Eeyore's tail piece by piece using items crafted at the biome workstation. The chapter ends with Eeyore slightly less gloomy and Gloommeadow partially restored, setting up the larger conflict in Chapter 5.
Chapter 5: The Big Red Monster
Chapter 5 escalates the Gloommeadow storyline with what Eeyore calls "the Big Red Monster" — a manifestation of Thought Fog corrupting the biome's deepest grove. You craft protective items using Golden Honey, collect memory fragments from hidden grottos, and coordinate with Pooh and Eeyore to confront the fog beast. Combat is non-violent puzzle-style: place light sources, feed honey recipes, and activate environmental switches rather than traditional fighting.
Stockpile Golden Honey and cooked meals before entering the finale sequence. Missing ingredients mid-quest forces backtracking across Gloommeadow. Completing the confrontation clears the largest fog zone in the biome and rewards furniture recipes themed around Eeyore's house. Chapter 5's ending cutscene teases Piglet's storyline in Braveheart Grove.
Chapter 6 Interlude: Bridge Between Arcs
Chapter 6 is labeled an Interlude because it is shorter than standard chapters but mandatory for Eeyore's villager unlock. Pooh organizes a morale event near the Gloommeadow bridge involving multiple villagers from Honeyglow Woods. Objectives include gathering picnic ingredients, decorating the bridge area, and completing a group activity that references classic Hundred Acre Wood traditions.
The Interlude explicitly unlocks Eeyore as an inviteable villager for your main Valley. Talk to him after the cutscene to confirm he appears in your character collection menu. He offers friendship quests, gift preferences favoring soft materials and honey dishes, and Dream Style items. See our Eeyore character page for details. After the Interlude, Chapter 7 opens Braveheart Grove and the Piglet arc.
Gloommeadow Tips and What Comes Next
Gloommeadow fog is denser than Drowsybloom Acre — carry extra light crafting materials and mark lantern locations on your mental map. The bridge area becomes a social hub; revisit it after unlock for Pooh Sticks with Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet, and other villagers. Keep bee houses running in both biomes for steady honey income during long fetch chains.
Next priority: unlock Piglet through Chapters 7–9 in Braveheart Grove. Track all chapters on our quest checklist so you do not accidentally skip the Interlude — it is easy to miss because of its shorter length compared to Chapter 5.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I enter Gloommeadow before Chapter 4?
No. Gloommeadow paths are story-locked until Chapter 4: A Tail Tale begins after completing Chapters 1–3 with Pooh.
Is Chapter 6 Interlude skippable?
No. Despite being shorter, the Interlude is required to officially unlock Eeyore as a main Valley villager.
What is the Big Red Monster?
A Thought Fog manifestation in Chapter 5. You defeat it through light puzzles, honey crafting, and environmental interactions — not combat.
How much Golden Honey do Chapters 4–5 need?
Plan for at least 15–20 Golden Honey across both chapters for cooking, crafting, and fog-clearing objectives. Stockpile during Chapter 3 downtime.
When can I play Pooh Sticks in Gloommeadow?
After progressing through Chapter 4 bridge restoration. See our Pooh Sticks guide for the full minigame tutorial.
